Always less expensive compared to other dealerships/ mechanics. Very friendly and walk me step by step through what they have done . Helped me navigate buying a used car. They always try to work me in and their estimated times to complete a job are accurate.

I'm actually sitting in their lovely waiting room while writing this review. I love these guys. I moved to Georgia 4 years ago and was panicked that I didn't know a car mechanic I could trust in the whole state. I asked around and people said great things about Japanese Automotive so I gave them a try. The staff is super friendly, they do what they say and get it done when they promise it. But since I don't know anything about cars, I was still sort of nervous. I called an ex-boyfriend who owns a mechanic shop in Texas and told him exactly what my car was doing, what Japanese Automotive said was wrong with it, and how much they wanted to charge me to fix it. He agreed with their assessment and liked their price. And because I really wanted to know they were honest, I called the ex-boyfriend hotline for three more times before I knew these guys had my back. The other awesome aspect of knowing honest great mechanics is that they hang out with other honest, great car people. When I needed a body shop, they sent me to the best place. (Perfect Body.) "As good as it gets" really does describe this business. I hope you give them a chance to earn your trust! I'll never go anywhere else!

Japanese Automotive have taken care of both our Toyota Highlanders, since we moved to Alpharetta, in 2009. I highly recommend them. They are very nice, and do NOT try to add work that is not needed. They have a nice waiting area, TV and WiFi and things to read. If you have a Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc, this is where you should be getting service.

A good mechanic/shop one can trust is hard to find. I was referred to this shop when we moved to the area 6 years ago and I've been a repeat customer since then. 4 different vehicles, with various mileage amounts and various reasons to use their services - they do great work every time. Their prices are on-par with other shops and dealers but their customer service is far better. Any work they have done for me has always been done correctly. I will continue to use the services of these folks and keep referring friends to them.

Cautiously optimisticI saw Lona's review and it does give me pause, although I do not believe all parts are equal, all diagnostics are done thoroughly, and all service fees should be the same. Sometimes you get what you pay for in life you know? In my experience dealerships have much lower quality mechanics working in them than private mechanic shops do. Typically parts are much more expensive at dealership so that is an interesting point Lona raised. So far my short experience with Japanese automotive has been a pleasant one. I am one of those idiot Shadetree mechanics that can fix something 90% of the way there but not quite 100%. Japanese automotive talks to me and explains things to me as if I'm better with cars than I am and I appreciate that they spend the time to explain the details of what's going on. Not just throwing a bill or quote in my face.They diagnosed an air conditioning problem my prior mechanic could not figure out. They also have an early morning shuttle service for nearby, local drop-offs, and that is a major, major help to me.

Went to this place for the first time today after being refered by a friend. Very professional, clean & comfortable establishment. I was able to use the wifi while I waited on my car which was done faster than expected. I will be back & would be glad to refer this shop.

These guys saved me $1800 compared to other places. Replaced a clutch in one day while I was at work. They're willing to talk about issues in depth to make sure I understand what's wrong and how it's being fixed. I'm an automotive enthusiast so I am VERY picky about where I take my car. All my repairs will be done here in the future.

Honest and trustworthy are descriptions not normally associated with auto repair, but that was my impression of the owner at Japanese Automotive. I went in anticipating the possibility of a major repair bill because my Mitsubishi has 93,000 miles and was acting funny. I recieved a reliable diagnostic report and a minor repair bill instead of major costs and uncertainty about being ripped off. An amazing and very refreshing experience, which was not at all what I expected. And, the customer service was very good! I'll be back!Rod L.

I took my Honda Odyssey with some heating problems(?). They told me that there was nothing wrong with the car. They obviously spent time looking the car over, but they did not charge me anything at all; they did not mention a word about charges.alok, 05-Jan-2010
